2:1 Joshua son of Nun sent two spies out from Shittim secretly and instructed them: 1  “Find out what you can about the land, especially Jericho.” 2  They stopped at the house of a prostitute named Rahab and spent the night there. 3

10:40 Joshua defeated the whole land, including the hill country, the Negev, the lowlands, 18  the slopes, and all their kings. He left no survivors. He annihilated everything that breathed, just as the Lord God of Israel had commanded.

11:8 The Lord handed them over to Israel and they struck them down and chased them all the way to Greater Sidon, 19  Misrephoth Maim, 20  and the Mizpah Valley to the east. They struck them down until no survivors remained.
